The Kit Finder lets you narrow down electronic drum kits by the things that matter most at home: how much room you have, what you want to spend, what kind of pads you want, whether the kit suits an apartment and what level it is built for. Pick the filters that apply to you and the list updates to show only matching kits.
Every kit in the finder uses the same data as the reviews and roundups on the site, taken from manufacturer specs and checked against owner feedback. Scores are the same “Our score” used everywhere else, explained on the how we choose page. If you want more guidance before filtering, read how to choose an electronic drum set .

How the filters work
The finder has six filters, shown in this order. Turn on as many as you like; a kit has to match all of them to stay in the list. If nothing matches, remove one filter. Each kit card also has a + Compare button, so you can put a few finalists side by side in one spec table.
Level
Kits are tagged Beginner , Intermediate , Advanced or Pro , based on pads, module features and hardware. Beginner kits are a fine start for most adults and kids. If you are unsure, start with the beginner kit list .
Pads
Pick Mesh heads , Rubber pads , Silicone (TCS) or Mesh + rubber . Mesh is quieter at the pad and closer to an acoustic feel. Rubber is cheaper and durable but louder to the stick. Silicone (TCS) is Yamaha’s textured cellular silicone, which sits between the two. Mesh + rubber means the kit mixes the two, for example a mesh snare with rubber toms. Hybrid kits built around real acoustic shells have no pad type listed, so they disappear when this filter is on. For details, see mesh vs rubber drum pads .
Space needed
Kits are grouped as Compact (corner) , Standard (half a room) or Large (spare room) , based on the rack size and layout in the manufacturer specs. Compact kits suit bedroom corners and small offices. Standard kits take up about half of a typical bedroom. Large kits spread out like an acoustic kit and want a spare room. Remember to leave room for the throne and your legs. The guide to how much space electronic drums need explains how to measure.
Good for apartments
A kit gets a yes only when its kick uses a beaterless pedal, meaning no beater hits a pad, so most of the low thump that travels through floors never starts. Every other kit, including ones with a kick pad, kick tower or real kick drum, is marked no. That does not mean they cannot work in an apartment, but plan on a riser or a thick mat under the kick and pedal. The guide on making electronic drums quieter covers the fixes.
Price
Kits are sorted into typical US street price brackets: Under $300 , $300-500 , $500-1,000 , $1,000-2,000 and $2,000+ . Exact prices are not shown because they change often, so check the retailer for the current price. Discontinued kits that no longer have a street price bracket drop out of the list as soon as you pick a price.
Easy for beginners
Turn this on to see only kits I consider a sensible, low-fuss first kit, judged from the setup, the module and its practice tools. It is a yes or no tag, and it is broader than the Level filter above. Some intermediate kits also count as easy for beginners, because a beginner who wants room to grow can start on them.
